River swimming

A small, well maintained swimming area on the river Dronne (10 minutes by car, signposted Comberanches) is used by locals and English to cool off on hot days. A weir to the side of the river adds to the interest.

Aubeterre has a man-made beach on the river which is ideal for children. It also has cafes and bars.

Lisle (about 20 minutes away) has a river lido which has lifeguards during the summer months. It is also a charming village with a popular restaurant.

Fêtes

Most of the local villages have their own Fêtes during the peak summer months. One of the best known is the river fête at Epéluche held at the end of August.
